About

Mexican composer, producer and sound designer.

His work covers a wide spectrum, from doing sound design for a cemetery to a children’s museum, musicalizing massive video mappings and dance pieces, producing bands who blend traditional and pop music and touring around the world playing an array of instruments.

Using field recordings, homemade acoustic instruments, synthesizers and a collection of instruments from different cultures, Carlos defies expected genre boundaries, creating a blend of cinematic and experimental sound creations.

He has shared the stage with artists like John Zorn, Cyro Baptista, David Broza, Eviatar Banai, Patrick Watson and many others in countries including Mexico, USA, Canada, Israel, Italy, Bosnia Herzegovina, Austria and Argentina. Aside from his on-stage work, Carlos has produced a series of sound related installations and projects exhibited in various prestigious galleries and museums like TagCDMX (Mexico), BLACK NYC (USA), Holzmarkt 25 (GERMANY), Mexico City Museum (Museo de la CDMX), Andrea Pozo Gallery (Mexico) and Ilana Gur Museum (Israel).

His musical projects include Page Sounds, Middle Waters. Chingos de Changos, and a series of experimental albums under his own name.

Metta’s next projects include a Residency at Pioneer Works in NYC on September 2022
